As a VASS service, first- and second-year superintendents participate in Cohort 4 of the Virginia Transformational Leadership Academy (VTLA). This exemplary continuous professional learning opportunity provides you with timely information and support throughout the first two years of your superintendency. Based on your entry plan, community listening tour, and/or strategic plan, you will identify priority challenges and have access to colleagues and experts to assist and support planning, implementing, and monitoring short- and long-term goals for your school division. You will receive executive coaching from experienced current or retired superintendents; have access to real-time networks for problem solving and ideation; and focus on the following topics during a hybrid of three in-person and at least four virtual sessions:
Superintendent, School Board, & Community Relations
Community Relations and Connections
Strategic Planning
Communication Strategies
Division Budgeting 101

Tuition costs are covered by the Virginia Leads Grant funded by the Virginia Department of Education. REGISTER HERE.
MOU School Division Superintendents and Cabinet Member Teams also are invited to participate at no cost. Sessions will be tailored to each team's needs.
